Right- or left-handed?
When ordering flights, it is important to state whether they are to be right- or left-handed. If a completely new screw is produced, it is not crucial whether a right- or left-handed screw is ordered, as it is possible to change the rotation of the motor, in order to convey the material in the direction required. However, when repairing an existing screw section, it is essential to know the difference between a right- and a left-handed screw.
The hand of the screw is easily determined by comparing the screw to a regular spiral drill, if the threads rotate in the same direction as the drill, it is right-handed.
